Software Update for clients fails with “Could not contact Software Updates Server”

- Check the firewall on the server

- Your server’s firewall is blocking access to port 6700

Error -54 or -49 when trying to log in

- Transient errors: If a client attempts to connect to a document that is in the middle of closing down/backing up, the client will see a -54 or -49 error. This is normal. In this case, the client should just wait for a minute, then try again.

- Persistent error: The Datacentre service cannot open the file because it is already in use—probably someone is using a local MoneyWorks Gold on the server to open the file directly.
