when entering a date MW has an auto complete feature. If you are in Oct and want to enter todays date just type 4 and exit the field (click out or Tab) and MW will complete the rest of the date for you. If you are wanting to enter date in the same year - say Sept 4th, type 4/9 (or 9/4 if you are Ame...

the GST is report is cleared out after each GST period is finalised. So it sounds like the GST report has not been finalised before (click on Old in the report settings and you will see all the GST periods that have been finalised). Assuming all the prior GST returns have been correct and you just n...

you could make each stage an "invoice" in MW, but create a form called "Claim". Make a statement that says "Invoice", which will show all the "claims". You will now be able to receipt against each claim.

this would not really be possible in the transaction list as a single transaction could be posted to multiple account codes.

The list you want is the detail line items (Show, Detail Line Items). This is a list of all the individual lines that make up a transaction, and it shows the account codes...

Do you mean you have issued an invoice, which the customer paid. Now you want to credit (reverse) the invoice and refund the money? The simplist method is to simply enter a payment, coding it to the original sales code (assuming no stock is involved). The longer way is to cancel the Receipt you ente...

You can email invoices from MoneyWorks, in the botton righthand corner of the invoice screen there is an envelope, just click it and it's done. However it is sent via your preferred email program. If you are meaning the envelope next to the OK button, then no this not an email button. It is to "pos...

Scrap that, found a flaw in my thinking. If the creditor has an overall balance of Nil then the Forex gain/loss won't amount to anything, so doing the credit to Term Liability won't help you. As you can have multiple Accounts Payable control accounts the best option maybe to create a new GBP Account...

Hi Patrick The second creditor invoice will need to be a negative amount Dr A/cs Payable Cr Term Liability When you need to pay the author I think you will need to first do a creditor invoice code to Term Liabilities. Dr Term Laib Cr A/c Payable Then match this invoice to the original negative invoi...

Another solution in an extention of your 1st idea, but then create a credit to a Term Liability account. The creditor balance will then be nil and it will be displayed as a Term Liability. Don't contra the 2 creditor invoices and MW should still do the Forex gain/loss calculation. The 2 invoices wil...

You could use one of the Product Invoices as a basis. These show the unit cost and the Qty. I think you may have missed a step, or I haven't explained myself properly. The period name/year name needs to be aligned. It sounds like these are not set correctly in your system. If you go to the time line (Open/Close period) and go right back to the first Green box to the left (ie the very first...

an upgrade to gold probably would be your best option. Using job costing would allow you to add components and time to a job and then get Mw to add all this to a job bill. As previous posts have suggested you can do this a a simple "one liner". Alternatively you could create a custom form to hide th...

No Problem. Start your file with the earliest date corresponding to yr end. We can change this later. Now once you've created your data file open it up and go to Show, Period Names (looking at the top drop down menus). Here you can rename the years to the correct titles, corresponding to the years y...
