I'm not an accountant so I always preface and answer to a question like this with - check with your accountant. Different provinces may have different rules. You do not 'claim' PST on products you purchase for resell. You can however, purchase these products PST exempt from your supplier if you have...

Moving from Balances to actual transaction.

I find myself looking at my contacts list and the balances view of their account quite often. I'd like to jump to a transaction, for various reasons, but can't (or don't know how). I'd like to be able to double-click on a transaction and open it in the transaction window. Then I can modify, duplicat...

Other here will know better about importing data from QB. I've never done it but I understand that 'some' of the data may be able to transported over. But as I said, I'll let others with more knowledge about this answer that one. And the accountant's copy can read and edit your information, so they ...

I remember that - substitute one pain for another. I wonder if there's some way of the software knowing that you're entering a figure 'by hand' and to disregard the auto-input for that line item , until the following line, unless you start entering a number there as well, and so on. I just want the ...

When you purchase MoneyWorks, they will supply your accountant with a free support copy that'll run on his PC. Then he can read your MW files directly with no conversion necessary.

Automatically enter balancing amount

I received this suggestion/question from a client and also have been wondering about it myself - so others may be wondering too. When entering a transaction and moving to the next line, a little bubble shows up with the amount to balance the transaction. Could that figure not be automatically entere...

Rowan... that suggestion worked great, except that the Accounts window doesn't refresh the data when an entry is made. I have to either close/reopen the window, or scroll the accounts list down (so that the account with the change rolls off screen) and back up again to see the change. Is this a bug?...

Garth... Rowan is correct in the way to create this transaction. Unfortunately, if you've already made the entries as straight transactions you'll have to manually calculate the proper GST amounts and make an adjusting entry. And for future transactions, I think the best way for your situation is li...

Quick view of balances

I know there's a 'Balances' view that shows the current year, last year, etc. (be nice if there was a short-cut key to view this - hint hint), but I mostly use it to view the current month. Is there a quick way to view the current month balances only, without producing a report? Right now, I have it...

Breaking down a deposit

When I make a remote deposit to my bank, ie. Debit & Credit Card transactions, the Banking feature allows me to track this as one amount. However, on my bank statement, if the amount consists of both debit and CC transactions, they are listed separately. For example, I have $125 in debit transac...

For some reason, since upgrading to 5.0.6 & 5.0.7, my backups are starting the backup filename with a "." and is not recognized by the system.

Any ideas?

I've never used scripts before but that looks easy enough. I'll give it a try when I'm back in the office next week.

If the script is used, can you still close that document and open another, like the Widgets sample, without disabling the script?
