MW not very smart at breaking things up

In journal, on the 'break' command when an inventory item is broken into a smaller number of items it is usually necessary to do the math separately to calculate the value of each new item. For example if you have a box of 100 widgets that you buy by the box for $100 and sell individually under a se...

Ship goods/pay by cheque

During "Shipping goods with Invoice" process, when the account customer pays by cheque, the cheque number is not registered. When the banking is done, one has to go back and fill in the missing cheque numbers for the deposit form. This is something that will need to be addressed in an upda...

Re: Finalised by mistake

Use the roll-back command or revert your last back-up. This is probably very inconvenient as you may have made further entries.

Tablet Signing

Has anyone had experience with MW Gold and customer signing of invoices on a tablet for collection of goods? We are a small wholesaler with the vast majority of our customers on account who collect goods and sign a 2nd printed out invoice copy for our records. My first thoughts are that the tablet w...

Concern over inventory warnings.

For many of our inventory items, we stock low quantities of just 2 or 3 in number. I have noticed that if our Reorder level is 2 and our normal order quantity is 1 with a warning if the stock drops below the Reorder level, the stock can get to zero without warning. Does anyone else have this problem...

The administrators need to make a few announcements... I mean, "MoneyWorks 7 is now available," Circa 2013 conveys the impression that this forum is dead. It's not is it?

Faulty MoneyWorks Deposit Slip (Report)

When physically banking cheques and cash at the end of the week from the MW Banking command one can also 'Transfer' cash from the Unbanked or Undeposited Funds account to accounts such as Petty Cash, the Cash Drawer or to pay various Fees. If the deposit slip is printed from this window the print is...

Re: Customer codes - best use?

When I first started with MW I was annoyed that my questions would go unanswered for long, so I try to rectify that - I hope I am being helpful. The customer code is to initially track them down in the system so it should be the first few letters of the first word of their business name. For example...

Re: What's best way to segregate types of customers?

I quess it depends on your situation. The price code, available on each customer's card (in MW Gold) separates our trade customers from retail customers and cash customers from account customers. Categories are used to separate customers from different areas as we visit various country regions and u...

Re-order Problem - Program fault?

As an items inventory diminishes below a pre-set number a 'Reminer' message is displayed to re-order it. Unfortunately, when I select the item in the item list and hit the 'Reorder' button I get a dialogue box displaying the following message: "All selected products are in stock or already on o...

Re: Inventory Question.. multiple sizes problem

Glad I could be of some help. I am certainly no expert with MW and initially, while enduring a steep learning curve, I was very critical. This is because it is a fairly 'open architecture' program with a lot of scope for customisation and flexibility. As you would know, just running a small business...

Re: Inventory Question.. multiple sizes problem

Forgive me here if I'm making a wrong assumption but two things worth remembering are: 1. The inventory is for your information, enabling you to quickly tell what you have or have not in stock and what you should re-order. You mention Agents and/or events which confuse me a little but in any case, i...

Further, there is the application of discounts for multiple numbers of an item purchased. I have calculated and entere...

Thanks Rowan,
The dialoge box displays, "Could not send email".
Our email server address is: smtp.tpg.com.au - I will try loading the suggested program.

MW 7.1.1 Email Issues

I have just upgraded to MW 7.1.1 and find that I can no longer email directly from MW.
I can still spool to the email program and get messages out that way.
This problem appears only on the Windows computer. My Mac still works fine.
Is anyone else having the same problem?

Daily Summary - Zero sales

I have just installed MW7.1 (update) and I don't know if this problem existed previously. After merrily making sales all day "The Daily Summary" shows 'Sales - 0'. This is consistent for today, the previous 7 days and the previous 30 days... I would assume that this is because I have categ...
