Percentage of Sales

Post by mikeguil » 08 Dec 2010 13:54

I'm trying to modify a P&L report to show the monthy/yearly figures as a percentage of Sales. Any ideas how I can do this?

Apend a New Part (near the top of the Report):
Accumulator, Op On,Clear PCT

Apend a New Part:
Part Type (eg. Select your accounts of Type or Category)
Select Invisible

Apend a New Part:
Accumlator, Op Off PCT

Append a New Column:
Column Type: Calculation
Formula: -COL2 / PCT.COL2 * 100
Apply Formula to Accumulator

That's about it.....
Let me know how you get along.

You haven't written a Custom Aged Payables or Aged Debtors have you?

I haven't written a custom anything at this point. It looks 'greek' to me - but I'll give it a try hopefully this weekend. I sure appreciate the guidance! Thanks.

How did you go with your report?

There is a standard report under Reports, Profit & Loss, Profit Monthly that gives you the columns;
Last Month
This Month
% Change
Year to Date
% Income

Also available as Profit Yearly.

This may be easier to customise and take columns out rather than add them in.

My 2c!

Haven't had time to try anything yet - got too many projects on the go. But that does sound easier!
