GST Adjustments

To the best of my knowledge, MoneyWorks always leaves box 13 (and Box 9) empty and it is up to you to make a manual adjustment to the printed report. A typical situation is when your chartered/financial accountant does your end-of-year accounts and tells you to adjust for the GST that you have claim...

Finding active jobs that have pending items

Hi Donna I presume that you are wanting to find the active Jobs that have pending jobsheet items. Sanjeev's earlier answer showed how to filter the jobsheet items to find jobsheet items depending on the status of the Job So just turn that logic inside out to create a similar filter to the Jobs view:...

Remembering last date in transactions

Hi

You don't need a pin - just right click the date field and select "remember value"

For more details, have a look at page 86 in the pdf manual that is accessible from the Help menu.
(the subject is "changing field attributes" and it runs on into page 87)

Hope this helps

Reformatting delivery address

I got the answer directly from Grant so thought I should post it here to close this topic. The multi-line Transaction.DeliveryAddress is a single field with the carriage returns hard coded. The trick is to remove the carriage returns and replace with commas and spaces as appropriate for the desired ...

Find is the answer but now a formatting issue

Thanks Rowan - I knew the sequence number was the issue but couldn't step back from the lookup to consider other options! I've used the find as part of the if statement and all now works (although the +jobcode+ reference required me to create an invisible field in which I defined this parameter as J...

Lookup detail from transaction

I'm making a customised Job Bag form for a contractor who wants to include the Job site address on this form. Most times this address will be the same as the standard delivery address on the customer's name record but sometimes it will be a different location. In this case, the Quote will have a non...

GST corrections

Yes, you can do corrections via journal entries and any journals involving the GST control accounts will appear at the foot of the GST report so that you can manually adjust the total sales figures etc. BUT My experience is that it is far better to fix the problems by cancelling the originals and re...

Search expression in Analyse function

Thanks Craig That did the trick. Curiously, the from and to parameters work fine in plain language as per my original posting. (maybe because they are defined as dates in the custom control) Now it's on to the real part of the report with grouping the jobsheet lines by date etc. Thanks again Wal

Using a control for the search in Analyse function

I'm constructing a table of jobsheet items (so that I can show the jobsheet.Memo field that doesn't appear on standard Analysis reports) I want to allow the user to select the job when they run the report so have added a custom setting in Text format which I have called JobCode. The Search part of t...

Filter by reference

Seems ot me like you are selecting the wrong fields. Look at Appendix A - Field definitions if you are unsure of the field to use or how it is structured. As per my previous post, the cheque number is in the OurRef field - not the ToFrom our Description fields you also said: Yes that was my initial ...

Filters for payment methods

Glad to hear that those search functions worked for you. Now for your next question: Transactions have a field called PaymentMethod. You see it as a drop-down box on the transaction header (the default for a new transaction is driven by the setting in the Name record) but it is stored as a single-di...

Sales Refunds

Well, here in NZ we mostly track sales refunds by looking for negative value Debtor invoices. If the refund relates to the return of goods, then you surely want to decrease Sales by using the same account code that was used on the original sales invoice. However, if you are talking about "policy ref...

Filtering by period

When serching for a particular period, you need to know that MoneyWorks stores the periods as a number made up of the year*100 plus the month (numbered from 01 to 12 through the financial year). It then converts them back to plain text for the list views. The manipulation of periodtoNum in your exam...

Select "Edit" from the drop-down list and then "New" to create a new filter. 3. Enter this code in the Search Expression box: TaxAmount = 0 a...

Filters

Yes, you can create filters but I geneally only do this if the filter is going to be used regularly without variations. The simple alternative is to use the find function In your example, try the following steps: 1. In the Transaction Window, change to the "View by Period" Tab and select March 2. Th...

Yes - it's easy. I use it to create lists of payments via specific credit cards. Just select Edit from the filter drop-down, then create a New filter using the field contra = "account code that you want to see" (e.g. a bank account). Don't forget to give it a useful name before you close the edit wi...

Just make sure that the box "Accounts are floating" is ticked in the appropriate report.

Any negative values will then switch to the other part of the report.

It's explained in the help under "Accounts of Type" in the Reports chapter

Cheers, Wal

There are so many different ways to get the information that you want without setting up special General Ledger account codes. One way is to use one of the Categories (or even one of the Custom fields) on the Customer records to indicate the Master distributor. You could even just make all those cus...
